Coupé-Décalé is a type of popular dance music originating from the Ivorian diaspora in Paris, France. It’s drew its influence from another Ivorian genre Zouglou and the Caribbean style of music called Zouk. It’s dance moves have evolved over time and so has its style of music. Modern day Coupé-Décalé has a very percussive style which dancers use to electrify the dance floor with footwork that blows the mind.
